Upcycling as a finish

In the “biz” we don’t say paint or flooring, we say “wall finish” “floor finish”. For those who have been following me for a while, you know I love to DIY, Upcycling and it is even better when it is built right into the design. Here are a few upcycled finishes that I love!

This is a leather floor created from upcycled leather belts! I could see this in a bedroom, hallway or a workout room!

Now this is amazing! Who would have thought that tin can lids on a wall could look so great! I love the bling it brings to the room. The juxtaposition of the beautiful, modern wall lamp gives it context.

And for a kitchen, this is fantastic! Bottle caps on the wall then grouted like tile!

Looking for some free rustic? Take apart a pallet and use it as barn board on the walls!

  2. Wow! I’m blown away by the different ideas! The belts, pennies, bottle caps—so cool. I would have to say the one that caught me by surprise the most was the metal lids!!! They are beautiful and so unique looking. Thanks for the eye treat of all the different ideas in one spot!
